A receipt upload lets you contribute price data from the paper slip that arrives with your delivery order. After you receive your food, you photograph the printed receipt and upload it through PRIXO. PRIXO’s AI reads the restaurant name, platform, all line items, fees, VAT, and total, then saves the breakdown to your account. It’s one of the simplest ways to add verified price data without needing to be at a checkout screen.

How receipts differ from snapshots

Price snapshots are screenshots taken inside a delivery app during checkout. Receipt uploads are photographs of the physical paper you receive with your order. The two paths complement each other: snapshots capture the in-app experience, while receipts capture what was actually charged and delivered. Because receipt uploads don’t require you to be inside a delivery app, you can upload them from anywhere — at home, at the office, or whenever you get around to it after the meal.

Points you earn

You earn points for every receipt that the AI processes successfully. Points are awarded on acceptance, after you review the extracted data and confirm it is accurate.

Uploading from the PRIXO mobile app

Receipt upload is also built into the native PRIXO mobile app. From the app’s contribute flow, open Upload Receipt and either take a photo with your camera or choose an existing image from your gallery. The app resizes large photos automatically before sending them, then uploads to the same endpoint the web flow uses — so the AI processing, points, and review steps described below apply equally whether you upload from prixo.ai or from the app.

How to upload a receipt

1

Sign in to PRIXO

Go to prixo.ai and sign in to your account. Receipt uploads are only available to signed-in users.
2

Navigate to Upload Receipt

From the main menu, select Upload Receipt. You can also reach this page directly at prixo.ai/receipts/new.
3

Photograph or upload your receipt image

Take a photo of your paper receipt or choose an existing image from your gallery. Accepted formats are JPEG, PNG, and WebP, with a maximum file size of 5 MB.
4

Wait for AI processing

PRIXO sends your image to its AI for analysis. Paper receipts can take up to 60 seconds to process because the AI reads printed text, which varies in font, alignment, and image quality. A progress indicator keeps you updated.
5

Review the extracted breakdown

Once processing finishes, PRIXO displays everything it read: restaurant name, delivery platform, individual line items, subtotal, delivery fee, service fee, VAT, total, and the date of the order. Check each field against your receipt.
6

Accept or reject the extraction

If the AI read your receipt correctly, tap Accept to save it. If any field is wrong — a misread number or incorrect restaurant name — tap Reject. A rejected extraction is not saved, and you can try again with a clearer photo.

What the AI reads

PRIXO’s AI attempts to extract the following fields from every receipt: After processing, PRIXO shows you a confidence score as a percentage. A higher score means the AI is more certain about what it read. If the score is low, consider retaking the photo in better conditions before accepting.

Tips for a good receipt photo

Lay the receipt flat on a light-coloured surface — a table, a counter, or even a piece of paper — and photograph it in natural light or a well-lit room. Avoid shadows across the text, as they are the most common cause of misreads. Hold the camera directly above the receipt rather than at an angle so all text sits on the same focal plane.

Good lighting

Natural daylight or a ceiling light pointed directly above works best. Avoid using your phone’s flash at close range — it washes out printed ink.

Flat surface

Wrinkled or folded receipts are harder to read. Smooth the receipt out before photographing to keep all lines of text level and in focus.

Full receipt visible

Make sure all four edges of the receipt are in the frame. If the total or any fee row is cut off, the AI cannot extract a complete breakdown.

Readable text

Thermal paper receipts fade quickly, especially in heat. If the ink is already faint, photograph it as soon as possible and in strong light for the best result.

After your receipt is accepted

Once you accept the extraction, the receipt is saved with processed status and linked to your account. You can view all your uploaded receipts from your profile page.
Your receipt data is private to your account by default. The price information extracted from it — item costs, fees, and totals — may be used anonymously to improve PRIXO’s community price data, but your personal receipt history is never shown to other users.
